The polo field has a length of 275m and a width of 145m. The length in Polo are usually measured in yards. In that unit, a polo field is 300 yards long and 160 yards wide.

These dimensions are the equivalent of 5 official football fields. The field needs to have an area of 10 meters aside and 30 meters behind the goals where no one can access and that are known as safety zones.

The goals are composed of two posts that must be at least 3 meters high and are separated by 7,3 meters.

The side borders must be at maximum 27cm high.

The playing field is carefully maintained with closely mowed turf providing a safe, fast playing surface. To keep the field in a good shape and to avoid horses loss of balance, Polo is extremely rarely played under the rain or on a wet field.
